  • Wash your hands: Use soap and water or hand sanitizer before beginning.
  • Put on disposable gloves: Wear gloves to protect yourself and ensure hygiene.
  • Sit or stand comfortably: Patient may sit on the toilet, or a container may be used if in bed.
  • Unclip or open the bag: Open the tail end (usually with Velcro or a clip).
  • Drain into the toilet: Slowly squeeze or roll the bag from top to bottom to empty it completely.
