PopTown Doc Audio (“PopTown Doc Audio”, “the App”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is a document-to-audio application designed to help users listen to their documents using text-to-speech technology.
The App is designed around the principle:

This Privacy Policy explains how PopTown Doc Audio handles information when you use the App.
By using PopTown Doc Audio, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Documents and Files You Choose to Process
PopTown Doc Audio may allow you to select documents or other supported files from your device for processing.
Depending on the features available in your version of the App, supported content may include:
- PDF documents
- Microsoft Word documents
- EPUB files
- TXT files
- HTML documents
- Images or scanned documents
- Other supported document formats
Your selected documents may be processed to:
- extract text;
- recognize text from scanned pages when OCR is required;
- organize document content;
- divide content into sections or pages;
- convert text into spoken audio;
- allow you to listen to the resulting audio.
Where supported by the App, document processing and text-to-speech processing are performed on your device.
Your documents are not intentionally uploaded to our servers merely because you use the core document-to-audio functionality.
If a future feature requires sending information to an external service, the relevant data handling will be disclosed before or when that feature is introduced.
3. Personal Information
PopTown Doc Audio does not require you to create an account to use the core document-to-audio functionality.
The App is not designed to require you to provide information such as:
- your name;
- home address;
- phone number;
- date of birth;
- contacts;
- photographs of yourself;
- financial information;
unless a future feature specifically requires such information and provides an appropriate disclosure.
4. Device Storage and App Data
The App may store information locally on your device to provide its functionality.

- document processing information;
- listening position;
- page position;
- playback position;
- bookmarks or other listening-related information;
- application preferences;
- voice and reading-speed preferences.
Local information is used to provide features such as continuing your listening session and remembering your application preferences.
This information is associated with the App on your device and is not automatically transmitted to PopTown merely because it is stored locally.
5. Text-to-Speech
PopTown Doc Audio uses text-to-speech technology to convert document text into spoken audio.
The availability and behavior of text-to-speech voices may depend on:
- your Android device;
- installed system speech engines;
- installed language packs;
- selected language and voice;
- device settings.
Where the device’s own text-to-speech engine is used, the processing of text is subject to the relevant Android/system speech service and its own privacy practices.
PopTown does not control the privacy practices of third-party speech engines supplied by your device or installed separately.
6. OCR and Scanned Documents
Some documents may contain scanned pages or images rather than selectable text.
When OCR functionality is used, PopTown Doc Audio may process the selected image or rendered document page to recognize text.
Where supported by the App, OCR processing is performed on the device.
If a future version uses a third-party OCR service that sends document content outside the device, this Privacy Policy and the relevant in-app disclosure will be updated before that functionality is used.
7. Internet Access
The core document-to-audio functionality is designed to work primarily with processing performed on the user’s device where supported.
Certain optional functionality may require Internet access, for example:
- opening external web pages;
- accessing app-related online resources;
- checking information provided by an external service;
- future online features.
When you intentionally open an external website or service from the App, that external service may process information according to its own privacy policy.
8. Third-Party Services
PopTown Doc Audio may use Android system services and, where applicable, third-party libraries or services required to provide specific functionality.
Third-party services may process technical information according to their own policies.
Examples may include:
- Android system services;
- device text-to-speech engines;
- Google Play services;
- services required for optional future functionality.
We will not intentionally share the contents of your personal documents with third parties for advertising purposes.
If a future feature introduces a third-party service that handles user data in a material way, the relevant privacy disclosures will be updated.
9. Advertising
Current policy: PopTown Doc Audio is not designed to require advertising in order to provide its core document-to-audio functionality.
If advertising is introduced in a future version, this Privacy Policy and the Google Play Data Safety disclosure will be updated to describe the relevant advertising technology and data practices.
10. Analytics
The current core document-to-audio functionality does not require users to create an account or submit personal information for analytics.
If analytics or diagnostic services are introduced or enabled in a future version, the types of information collected, the purposes of collection, and the relevant third-party services will be disclosed in an updated Privacy Policy and the applicable Google Play Data Safety information.
11. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not intentionally share the contents of your documents with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
Information may be shared with a third party only when:
- you explicitly initiate an action that involves another service;
- the sharing is necessary for a feature you have requested;
- the sharing is required by law or legal process; or
- a third-party service is used to provide a disclosed feature of the App.
Third-party services may have their own privacy policies and terms.
12. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the App.
Where information is processed locally on your device, it remains subject to the security protections provided by your Android device and operating system.
However, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You should also protect your device with appropriate security measures such as a screen lock and current system updates.
13. Data Retention
Information stored locally by PopTown Doc Audio generally remains on your device until:
- you delete the relevant document or application data;
- you uninstall the App;
- the App provides a feature allowing you to remove the information; or
- the information is otherwise removed by the Android operating system or device user.
Because the core App does not require an account, we do not maintain a user account database for the core document-to-audio functionality.
If future services introduce server-side data storage or user accounts, the applicable retention periods and deletion procedures will be described in an updated Privacy Policy.
14. Deleting Your Data
Because PopTown Doc Audio does not require an account for its core functionality, you can generally remove locally stored application information by using the App’s available delete features or Android’s application-management controls.
Uninstalling the App may remove locally stored application data, subject to Android device behavior and any files that you separately saved outside the App.
If a future version introduces an account or server-side personal data, appropriate account/data deletion procedures will be provided.
15. Children’s Privacy
PopTown Doc Audio is not specifically designed to collect personal information from children.
We do not knowingly request children to provide personal information to use the core document-to-audio functionality.

When you follow an external link, you leave PopTown Doc Audio and are subject to the privacy practices of the destination service.
